A Family Tradition Through Three Generations

Our History:
The manufacturing of our commercial grade Hi-Rib™ metal building panels and trim began in 1957 by Pope Steel Buildings, the forerunner of our current business. Pope Steel Buildings was highly regarded as an innovative leader in the fabricating and erecting of complete steel buildings throughout the Midwest. Many of Pope Steel's buildings have withstood the test of time and are still in use today.

Custom Metal Industries, Inc. was established in 1969 to carry on the Pope Steel tradition, and although we no longer erect buildings or install our metal buidling components, we continue to manufacture the same superior quality Hi-Rib™ metal roofing, siding and trim products that our valued customers have come to expect. To offer another alternative for our customers' metal clad needs, we began manufacturing our Corrugated metal panels in 1994.

Throughout our more than 50 year history, we have remained a privately held, family owned and operated business. Our knowledgeable and professional sales staff is ready to assist you with experience proven solutions to all of your metal building components needs.

Just east of Indianapolis in Greenfield, Indiana, Custom Metal Industries, Inc. is centrally located in our five state service area, and is easily accessible from most of the major highways and interstates in our Midwest Region. Our sales office, manufacturing and warehouse facilities are located approximately two miles east of downtown Greenfield on the Historic National Road (US Highway 40).

Picking Up Your Order:              You can pick up your order anytime during our normal business hours, or by appointment for special circumstances. Your order will be neatly bundled and loaded in/on your vehicle in a careful, professional manner.                             Be aware that your order can weigh up to 125 pounds per square depending on the gauge of the metal. Our sales staff can advise you on the total weight of your order. Your pick up vehicle should be capable of safely hauling the weight and length of your order. 

On a tight budget???

We offer both our Hi-Rib™ and Corrugated patterns in 'Seconds' products, which are colors and finishes that contain minor defects; and a product we call 'Rainbow', which contains mixed colors and finishes.
